Technical Production operator

Job Details

The purpose of the Technical Operator is to Operate, Maintain, Improve and Repair equipment within the production department. She/he will support the delivery of operational KPIs (Productivity, Quality, Safety, Health and Environment, Cost, Delivery, Morale and Innovation (PQSCDMI)). Working within an autonomous team the Technical Operator will drive excellent standards of production delivery and continuous improvement, whilst always protecting a safe and sustainable environment.

Responsibilities

  1. Knowledge and application of technical skills to Operate, Maintain, Improve and Repair (OMIR) equipment.
  2. Understand the principles of mechanism and motion and be able to conduct changeovers, basic repairs and adjustments (eg Cams, slides, bearings, belts and pulleys).
  3. Utilise appropriate lubrication regimes.
  4. Conduct basic electrical tasks within the production department (eg Lock Out/Tag Out, Isolation Procedures, Fault Location on a Common Control System and Testing and Verification of Common Proximity Sensors.
  5. Utilise appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products and equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
  6. Reduce costs due to waste and minimise impact to health, safety and the environment through working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste and hazardous materials.
  7. Use performance measures to identify and prioritise losses in production area. Apply rigorous Cost Deployment and the Zero loss concept to eliminate losses.
  8. Has the ability to identify, prioritise and address problems using appropriate tools and techniques that eliminate recurrence.

Job description

  • Ensure the machines are regularly checked and cleaned.
  • Monitor and control the machine performance and settings.
  • Regularly conduct tests of the machines performance and operating capacity.
  • Inspect machinery with appropriate tools.
  • Feed raw materials into semi-automated machines and help the assembly line.
  • Fix any issues or malfunctions that may occur.
  • conducting periodic checks on output efficiency
  • occasionally removing and packing finished products
  • gaining a thorough knowledge of a wide range of factory machinery and how it works
  • Keep an updated database on all of the machines information, defective units and final products.
  • Maintain a log of the activity.
  • Regularly submit performance reports.

Requirements

  • Graduate with any technical degree.
  • Prior experience as a machine operator.
  • Strong knowledge of a heavy-duty and high-speed machinery.
  • Strong ability to use measurement tools.
  • Good understanding of production procedures and best practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety methods and hazard regulations.
  • Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and handbooks.
  • Good physical stamina and keen attention to detail.
